JET FUEL

Implied passenger jet fuel demand will end seven consecutive weeks of decline, driven by an uptick in Asia for the Chinese public holiday, according to BNEF.

  • Implied passenger jet fuel demand in the week to Oct. 9 will rise to 6.44m b/d, up 0.5% on the week.
  • Asian demand is seen as a key driver, in particular China’s Golden Week. The region’s demand will rise by 42.9k b/d, up 2.4%.
  • In contrast, Europe is set for a decline in jet fuel demand on the week, as holiday travel declines into the winter.
