Guyana Eye's India as Long Term Crude Buyer

Guyana expects India to submit proposals for long term purchases of its crude according to its President Irfaan Ali.

  • Guyana is looking to secure a government-to-government deal. Guyana’s government is entitled to a share of the crude produced of its coast.
  • In 2022, Ali's government received a total of 13 cargoes of crude, and it expects to receive and export 17 cargoes this year.
  • "India has made it very clear that they have an interest in being one of the purchasers of Guyana's oil," Ali said.
