The Hammerfest LNG plant in Arctic Norway will be offline until Friday at least according to operator Equinor.

  • Production at the facility had already been halted because of ongoing maintenance, limiting the direct impact of today’s leak.
  • In a market message posted on Tuesday afternoon, Equinor said that Hammerfest LNG will be offline until 1200 local time (1000 GMT) on April 26, citing a gas turbine failure. The duration of the outage is subject to revision.
