Hungarian Parliament Seen Taking First Step to Unlocking EU Funds Today

HUNGARY: Parliament are today expected to approve the first of many anti-graft bills – today’s concerning a mechanism to overrule decisions when police or prosecutors drop suspected graft cases – in a move to secure blocked EU funds.

  • Trade deficit data came in wider than expected this morning, widening to a deficit of E1.298bln from E1.150bln. Manufacturing PMI was softer-than-expected, at 49.6 vs. Exp. 55.0.

CZECH REPUBLIC: Industry and trade minister Sikela will address press later today to discuss the energy crisis facing the country. Manufacturing PMI data due later today expected to slip to 45.6 from 46.8.
