Hungary to Announce “Hundreds of Billions of Forints” Worth of Investment

HUNGARY
  • MTI report that Hungary's government is set to announce hundreds of billions of forints worth of new investments in the coming period, guaranteeing that the country will again draw record investments this year, the minister of foreign affairs and trade said on Tuesday. "We're going to be able to announce hundreds of billions of forints worth of manufacturing and R&D investments in Hungary in the coming period," Szijjarto said.
  • Hungarian property prices may have peaked, according to data from Otthon Centrum, a Budapest-based real estate agency. The agency released data showing apartment prices fell 4% in Q4 on a 3m/3m basis, while house prices dropped 5% over the same period. The slip in prices follows extended gains for Hungarian real estate: Bloomberg cite Eurostat data in writing that real estate has risen 156% since 2015, the fastest pace across the EU.
