Implied jet fuel demand in the week beginning May 21 is set to rise marginally, reversing last week’s downturn, BNEF said.

  • Upcoming flight schedules imply jet fuel consumption will be around 6.53m b/d, up around 0.6% on the week.
  • The uptick will be driven by Eastern and Western Europe and North America, up 2.5%, 1%, and 0.9% respectively on the week. Asia is up 0.4% on the week.
  • The MENA region is down 0.8% on the week, with Latin America also down by 0.8%.
  • In China, the scheduled domestic flight count is set for a marginal 0.8% weekly gain in the period May 21-27.
