AUSSIE: Improving risk sentiment saw AUD/USD extend to session highs of $0.7247
in the London morning on Thursday, before the bid faded.
- Rate last $0.7223 after a marginal close below its 100-DMA of $0.7229, which
will have disappointed bulls. A close above here is needed to build on recent
momentum opening a run to the 200-DMA of $0.7396, just ahead of $0.7400. Bears
look to close below the 50-DMA at $0.7190 to regain control.
- Focus moves to the RBA's Dec meeting minutes due next Tuesday, ahead of next
Thursday's AU labour market report. Markets also eye the AU gov't MYEFO, due
Monday.
