Incumbent Labour Party Falls To Lowest Since 2017 In Polls

The Newshub-Reid Research poll is showing that the popularity of Jacinda Ardern’s Labour party is at its lowest level since 2017. It fell 5.8pp to 32.3% while the Nationals rose 0.2pp to 40.7%, as reported by The Australian. Ardern also fell 6.4pp as preferred Prime Minister to 29.9% but still ahead of the Opposition leader Luxon’s 21.5% which was also down. PM Ardern didn’t seem concerned and pointed out that her party’s internal polling showed that Labour and the Nationals were “neck and neck”. The next election is to be held no later than 13 January 2024.
