Interbank Hours Extend, SAFE Once Again Pledges Yuan To Be Kept At Reasonable, Stable Level

MNI (London) - China has extended the trading hours for the interbank foreign currency and the foreign currency money markets to 07:00-03:00 Beijing time from 07:00-23:30, per newswire reports. The changes will go into effect from 18 December. Previous speculation had done the rounds re: such a move.

  • Elsewhere, SAFE vowed to ensure the safety, liquidity, preservation and appreciation of foreign exchange reserve assets, while reiterating that it plans to keep the yuan operating at a reasonable, stable level in the FX market.
