FED: Interview with Stanley Fischer, Vice Chairman of the Fed's board of
governors, in the FT doing the rounds. Fischer said that despite the Fed lifting
interest rates twice this year, inflation has persistently remained low. Ahead
of the annual gathering in Jackson Hole in September Fischer appeared less
uncertain that the Fed will announce the start of the reduction its balance
sheet. He said 'there will probably be a break between the announcement of the
unwinding of QE and the start of the process, the central bank could always
press pause if unanticipated circumstances arise.' 
- In the interview Fischer also criticised Republican plans to repeal controls
on banks, saying it could potentially lead to conditions that engendered the
financial crisis.
-Fischer did note that he supported the loosening of controls for smaller banks.
