Iran Working to Create Gas Hub in the Persian Gulf

Iran is working to create a gas hub in the Persian Gulf according to the Oil Minister.

  • “With the cooperation of Russia, Turkmenistan and Qatar, we’re working to have a gas hub around Assaluyeh,” said Iranian Petroleum Minister Javad Owji.
  • “Preparations are being planned,” he said but without giving any details on the plans.
  • Gas cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan can turn the country into an energy hub and help meet gas demand in the northern and northeastern parts of the country according to a spokesman for Iranian Parliament Energy Commission.
