Japan FM Aso Supports Yellen's Call For Uniform Corp Tax Rate

Wires and social media reporting comments from Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso following the G20 finance minister's meeting, stating that US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's minimum corporate tax plan is 'critical in placing a stop to multinational corporate tax rate reductions that are becoming more competitive.'

  • Aso's comments come a day after Canadian PM Justin Trudeau stated that his gov't would "...be open to hearing various proposals on how to make sure that growth is inclusive, that opportunities are there for everyone around the world," adding that, "Canada will always look to ensure that we are competitive with other countries around the world in terms of taxes."
