- Japan's core machinery orders, excluding those for power generation equipment and ships, fell 1.1% m/m in July, down from last 2.7% m/m increase, posting the first drop in two months.
- Orders from manufacturing sectors, decreased 5.3% m/m, largely down from last 1.6% m/m growth in June.
- Orders from the non-manufacturing sector, rose 1.3% m/m, slower from the previous 9.8% m/m increase.
- The outlook for the July-September period is for a fall of 2.6%, compared with the 3.2% decrease over the previous quarter.
