JGBS: JGBs were largely unchanged on Friday, although futures edged higher after
cash hours.
- The latest round of BoJ Rinban operations cleared smoothly, which saw dip
buyers emerge.
- Barclays suggest that "today could see buyers take the upper hand around the
long end following the heavy buying in US and European bonds at the end of last
week, but any upside may be limited on an improvement in risk sentiment during
morning hours in Tokyo after the US and China released a joint statement on
Saturday "putting the trade war on hold," according to US Treasury Secretary
Mnuchin. They expect "the uptrend in JGB yields to take a breather on brisk
investor demand as the busy auction scheduled winds down."
