KazTransOil Extends Contract For Transit Of Russian Oil To China

KazTransOil and Rosneft have signed an additional agreement to an existing contract to provide transit services for Russian oil via Kazakhstan to China, KazTransOil's press service said.

  • The agreement aims to prolong the contract until 1 January 2034 to transit 10mn tonnes/yr of Russian oil to China.
  • In February 2022, Rosneft signed a 10-year deal to supply crude oil to China’s CNPC via Kazakhstan that expires in 2023, KazTransOil said in an emailed statement.
  • In January-April, KazTransOil transited 3.2mn tonnes of Russian crude to China according to Bloomberg.
