Kirishi Refinery Faces Overstocking

The Kirishi oil refinery near Russia’s Baltic coast is still facing diesel overstocking issues due to the country’s short-term ban on exports of the road fuel, according to Tass, citing Vladimir Bogdanov, CEO for Surgutneftegas.

  • The refinery usually exports most of its diesel but the current governmental rules to supply 50% of its diesel to the domestic market caused overstocking.
  • "Now the main task is to fill up the domestic market. We are all in favor; we are ready. But some are already overstocked," Bogdanov said.
