Kremlin: No Reason For Halt To Nord Stream 2, Lukashenko To Visit Moscow

RUSSIA

Kremlin spokesman states that the Russian gov't sees no reason why Germany would look to halt the construction of the Nord Stream II gas pipeline. The Russo-German project has come under increasing scrutiny in Germany and the wider western world following the alleged poisoning of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny with the nerve agent novichok.

  • Kremlin also confirms that embattled Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will visit Moscow in the coming days for talks. A mass protest by tens of thousands of opponents to the Lukashenko gov't took place on the streets of the capital Minsk on Sunday.
