Kremlin-Putin To 'Clarify' Russia's Point Of View On Ukraine To Xi

Comments from Kremlin spox Dmitri Peskov hitting wires ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow later today. States that 'Themes of China peace proposals [on the war in Ukraine] will definitely figure in Putin-Xi talks.' Adds Putin will provide Xi with 'clarifications' on Russia's point of view on Ukraine. Asked if China can be an intermediary between Moscow and Washington, D.C., Peskov states that the 'US continues not to allow any break in hostilities...the US is bent on further continuation of conflict.'

  • Social media reports state the two leaders are expected to hold talks around 1500 local time (0800ET, 1200GMT, 1300CET).
  • On the ICC arrest warrant issued for President Vladimir Putin last week, Peskov states that 'We see clear hostility towards our country and our president...We react calmly [and] continue to work...can't take all these things to heart, [the] main thing is that the president continues to work.'
