LNG Rosenrot Heads to Germany After Nine Weeks of Floating

The LNG Rosenrot vessel is heading to Germany after nine weeks of waiting off the coast of Spain with a US Freeport cargo according to ICIS ship tracking.

  • The vessel loaded from the US on 10 August and has been waiting near Cadiz since around 22 August, marking one of the two longest waiting floating storage cargoes near Europe.
  • ICIS estimates 16 floating storage cargoes off Europe this week.
  • Total LNG on tankers that have not unloaded for at least 20 days increased by 5.8% over the last week to 4.74mn tons as of 22 October according to Bloomberg. This is up by more than 15% from 2022 levels and 70% above the 2018-2022 average.
