Local government bond issuance could slow in Q2, as stronger y/y economic growth in April and May reduces the need for stimulus, according to the 21st Century Herald. Wind data showed CNY1.67 trillion of bonds were issued in Q1, accounting for 63% of the pre-approved batch announced at the end of last year. Experts said the remaining 37% will be issued before the end of June. The total issuance in Q2 is expected to be above CNY1 trillion, but below CNY1.67 trillion of Q1, according to the Herald.
