Lower House Continues To Debate No-Confidence Motion

CZECHIA
  • The Chamber of Deputies resumes the debate on a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Petr Fiala's government. The main opposition ANO movement focused on the fiscal consolidation package approved last week, accusing the Prime Minister of "betraying their voters". The no-confidence motion is expected to fail, given the ruling coalition's comfortable majority in parliament.
  • President Petr Pavel will come to the Senate to present Pavel Simon as his candidate for a constitutional judge. The Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Human Rights and Petitions and the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs both recommended the rejection of Simon's candidacy.
