MALAYSIA: Country Wrap:  Global Investors Selling Malaysian Equities.

  • Power utility company Tenaga Nasional has shut 14 substations in the east Malaysian state of Kelantan due to the worsening flood situation there, according to a statement (source: BBG).
  • Malaysian equities saw the highest net selling by global investors on Nov. 28 in more than nearly four years. (source: BBG).
  • Malaysia’s FTSE Bursa KLCI index is slowly moving into month end, down -0.10% for the day and is on track to finish -0.35% down in a month where economic data was generally good
  • MYR is on track to finish better today by +0.15%, but down just over -1.3% for the month. 
  • Bond yields drifted higher into month end, with the short end underperforming by 2bp. MGS 10-year is set to finish the month at 3.82% a move marginally lower in yield over the month.
