- Ahead of Thursday's BOE meeting, our Data and Policy team has just put out a
note analysing the disparate voting patterns of BOE 'insiders' and 'outsiders'
under Carney's governorship, with insiders tending to be more cautious over
tightening.
- For instance, MNI analysis shows that since Governor Carney's first vote in
July 2013, 39 out of the total 488 member votes (just under 8%) have been
dissents -- with 36 of these coming from outsiders...and of the latter, the vast
majority have been on the hawkish side.
