Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on Wednesday that the impact of the government’s JPY29.1 trillion stimulus on growth and inflation would be clarified in the next Outlook Report in January.

Kuroda told lawmakers the economic stimulus measures would lower consumer prices, by offering relief on utilities bills, but the measures will also support economy and boost Japan’s gross domestic product.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Friday unveiled the economic stimulus to cushion the highest inflation seen in decades, saying the measures would lower consumer prices by at least 1.2% over the next year.
