MNI BRIEF:China Hopes U.S. Lifts Unilateral Sanctions - Xinhua

China hopes the U.S. will take its concerns about export controls and investment reviews seriously and lift unilateral sanctions to provide a fair and non-discriminatory environment for Chinese companies, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported on Thursday following the meeting between the two heads of state in San Francisco.

China and the U.S. share extensive common interests not only in traditional fields such as economy, trade and agriculture, but also emerging areas such as climate change and artificial intelligence, the news service said. The country’s development and growth cannot be stopped by external forces, the newspaper said citing Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Both sides agreed to establish an intergovernmental dialogue on AI and an anti-drug cooperation working group, resume high-level military communication, significantly increase flights early next year, and expand exchange in education and foreign students, according to Xinhua.
