Eurozone banks should the enhanced profits from rising interest rates to boost reserves and resilience against credit deterioration risks if the economy slows, Bank of Spain’s Governor Pablo Hernandez de Cos said in an event in Madrid on Monday.

De Cos said systemic risks have “risen considerably” in some countries and they should implement macroprudential policies to increase the resilience of the system “avoiding procyclicality”.
