China will continue to its opening up, optimizing the business environment and services to help foreign companies in the country, while overseas investors remain confident about investing in China, Ministry of Commerce spokesman Gao Feng, said at a briefing Thursday.

Nearly two-thirds of American companies, 59% of EU companies, and 36.6% of Japanese companies plan to expand investment in China, said Gao, citing reports by foreign chambers of commerce from these countries.

China's actual use of foreign capital (excluding banking, securities, and insurance sectors) was CNY672.19 billion in the Jan-Jul period, rising 25.5% y/y, continuing the good momentum since the second half of last year, said Gao. This compares with the CNY607.84 billion and 28.7% y/y gain in the first half. Meanwhile, China's non-financial outbound direct investment for the first seven months rose by 4.2% y/y, totaling USD62.81 billion, said Gao. This compares with the USD53.9 billion and 4.7% y/y growth in H1.
