MNI BRIEF: Italy Request Next EUR 8.5 Bln NGEU Payment –Gov’t

(MNI) ROME

Rome has met the 37 milestones and reforms needed for the sixth payment request of EUR 8.5 billion from the NextGenEU Programme, minister for European Affairs Raffaele Fitto said in a press conference on Monday.

Italy requested the payment six days ahead of the June 30th deadline, being the first country to do so, Fitto, who has direct responsibility for the plan, stressed, adding that the disbursement for the fifth payment is now about to arrive after the last technical check.
