MNI BRIEF: Japan June Exports Gain As Auto Shipments Nudge Up

Japan's exports rose 19.4% y/y in June for the 16th straight gain and accelerated from May, while imports jumped 46.1% y/y, data released on Thursday by the Ministry of Finance showed.

Japan posted a trade deficit of JPY1.38 trillion for the 11th straight gap. Automobile exports rose 0.4% y/y in June vs. -7.9% in May, the first rise in two months, (See: MNI BRIEF: BOJ's May Real Export Index Rises 3.0% M/M)
