MNI BRIEF: NY Fed Index Shows Global Supply Chains Normalized

Global supply chain pressures declined in March, continuing the easing observed over the past year, suggesting global supply chains have normalized after the pandemic, according to the most recent reading from the New York Fed's global supply chain pressure index.

The New York Fed said there were significant downward contributions by many of the factors in March, with the largest negative contributions from European Area delivery times, European Area backlogs, and Taiwanese purchases.
