The Reserve Bank of New Zealand's aggressive tightening of policy is yet to be reflected in prospective construction activity, with building consents rising 3.8% in September, according to StatsNZ data released on Tuesday.

Seasonally adjusted building consents of 4,335 rose to their highest since March - retracing a 1.6% decline in August - and third highest level on record. Building consents rose 7% y/y to 50,732.
