Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Philip Lowe on Wednesday welcomed the announcement of an independent review of the central bank, saying it is an “opportunity to take stock of our monetary policy arrangements.”

Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers announced the much anticipated review, appointing an independent three person panel to review the RBA’s monetary policy framework, including its 2% to 3% inflation target, (see: MNI BRIEF: Australian Government Announces RBA Review).
