MNI BRIEF: UK Q3 GDP Sees Modest Upward Revision

The UK economy grew a little more than first estimated in Q3, with Q2 data also seeing a modest upward revision, although still leaving it with a record q/q decline, the Office for National Statistics said Tuesday. The 3 months to end-September were revised to +16.0%, up from the first estimate of +15.5% on a y/y basis, the contraction remained unchanged at -8.6%.

The second quarter - the three months that saw the worst of the initial national lockdown - saw a modest upward revision, now only lower by a record 18.8% versus the original estimate of a 19.8% contraction.
