(MNI) WASHINGTON
WASHINGTON (MNI)

The Federal Reserve said late Friday that Christopher J. Waller has been sworn in as a member of its board of governors.

It means that Waller, formerly executive vice president and research director at the St. Louis Fed, will vote on monetary policy at the Fed's next meeting on Jan. 26-27.

The oath of office was administered remotely via videoconference by Fed Chairman Jerome Powell on Friday, the Fed said in a statement. Waller had been confirmed by the Senate earlier this month.
