The Chicago Business Survey™ asked firms in September: "When are you planning to make your next (major) capital investments for growth?”
- 16.7% responded now/H2, 30.0% next year, 16.7% in the next 2 years. 36.7% “Unknown”.
- We last asked this question in June 2023. Results for the group “now/H2” stayed fairly stable at 16.0% previously. However, the percentage of respondents answering with “next two years” clearly declined from 24.0%, and the percentage of respondents answering with “unknown” picked up from 28.0%.
