MNI: China's MOFCOM has noted that the proposed U.S. tariffs are "firing at the
world and itself", although the ministry expects that China's 2018 trade outlook
is likely to be stable. Elsewhere MOFCOM has reiterated that it won't fire the
first shot in a trade war, but stressed that it will react to any U.S. actions.
- All in all the statement has provided little new thus far, and the FX space &
Fixed Income markets have been little effected by the headlines.
