MNI BRIEF: China October Sales, Production Rebound Unexpectedly

China's consumption and industrial production unexpectedly rebounded in October despite the spread of Covid-19 cases through more than 10 provinces as well as power crunch, but investment gains further slowed, according to data by the National Bureau of Statistics on Monday.

Retail sales rose 4.9% y/y in October, quickening for the second month from September's 4.4%, outshining the 3.7% forecast Industrial production rebounded slightly to 3.5% y/y in October, registering the second-lowest level this year, but higher than the 3.9% prediction.
