LONDON (MNI) - Tuesday throws up a full and busy calendar on both sides of
the Atlantic,
getting underway early.
The European calendar kicks off at 0700GMT, with the publication of the
German
Import/Export Prices. At the same time, the Bank of England will publish the
latest Financial Stability Review and the 2018 stress test results.
At 0745GMT, the French Consumer Sentiment data and the latest housing
starts
numbers will be released. At 0800GMT, the latest Spanish retail sales data will
cross the wires.
The October EMU area M3 money supply data will cross the wires at 0900GMT,.
At
1200GMT, the November GFK Consumer Climate data will be published.
Across the Atlantic, the US calendar gets underway at 1330GMT, with the
publication of the advance trade, advance business inventories.
At the same time, in Canada, the Industrial Production and Raw Material
Price
Index will be released.
The latest US Redbook Retail Sales Index will cross the wires at 1355GMT.
At 1400GMT, the FHFA Home Price Index and the Quarterly Price Index will be
released, alongside the S&P Case-Shiller Home Price Index.
The U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs will hold
a
full committee hearing on nomination of Jerome Powell to be Chairman of the
Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington.
Further US data from 1500GMT includes the US Building permits revisions,
the
Richmond Fed Survey and the Conference Board Consumer Confidence.
The index of consumer confidence is expected to decline to a reading of
123.5 in
November after a sharp gain to 125.9 in October. The Michigan Sentiment Index
slipped to 98.5 in November from 100.7 in the previous month.
Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank President Harker will speak on "Financial
Safety for the Aging Population" at "Aging, Cognition, and Financial Health:
Building a Robust System for Older Americans" in Philadelphia, starting at
1515GMT.
The Dallas Fed Services Survey will be released at 1515GMT.
Back in Europe, at 1600GMT, ECB President Mario Draghi will give his
introductory statement at a Hearing before the Committee on Economic and
Monetary Affairs (ECON) of the European Parliament, in Brussels.
BOC Gov Stephen Poloz and Senior Deputy Gov Carolyn Wilkins will hold a
press
conference at the National Press Theatre in Ottawa, starting at 1615GMT.
