LONDON (MNI) - The three key releases due Wednesday get underway in the UK
with the monthly GDP data for August at 0830GMT. The other two releases are
fairly anti-climatic after the UK release, with building permits in Canada and
U.S. producer prices index, both at 1230GMT.
GDP in the UK is anticipated to moderate in August after an impressive July
reading of 0.3% m/m and 0.6% 3m/3m growth. The 3m/3m growth rate is expected to
remain unchanged however the m/m is predicted to drop to 0.1%. Should the MNI
median be correct, the fall is stemming from the dominant services tapering off
and not offsetting weak growth in the other sectors as it has done previously.
Building permits in Canada declined by 0.1% in July.
The producer price index excluding food and energy in the US for September
is expected to rise to 0.3% after falling 0.1% in August.
Chicago Federal Reserve Bank President Charles Evans in Michigan at
1615GMT. Other central bank officials can be expected to speak through the day
as they gather in Bali for the World Bank/IMF Autumn gathering.
