MNI Global Morning Briefing

Monday sees a muted start to the week on the data front, with only limited releases in the European session, as the only publication of note is the Eurozone construction output data due at 1000BST. Output rose 2% in July and the recovery is expected to have continued into August.

Across the Atlantic, Monday's data includes the release of Canadian wholesale sales at 1330BST, the US NAHB Home Builder Confidence Index at 1500BST and the Bank of Canada Business Outlook and Consumer Confidence Survey at 1530BST.

Although the data calendar sees only second tier releases, there are policymaker appearances of note, including Federal Reserve Chairman Jay Powell and BOE Deputy Governor Dave Ramsden. Also speaking are Fed Presidents Raphael Bostic and Patrick Harker.
