- Right-winger Eric Zemmour has announced his presidential run, but this has coincided with a slump in his opinion polling support. He now sits in third or fourth place in first-round polls.
- Rassemblement National candidate Marine Le Pen has regained her long-held second placed berth, with Zemmour and candidates from the centre-right jockeying for third place.
- Should Le Pen or Zemmour make it to the second-round run-off, Macron would be the overwhelming favourite to be re-elected. The slim chance of his ouster most likely comes if a centre-right candidate can leapfrog Le Pen and Zemmour, making it to the second round.
