MOL Curtails Fuel Supply After Druzhba Shutdown

OIL

Hungary’s MOL is temporarily curbing fuel deliveries to some retailers as Russian oil supplies declined significantly below normal levels since the shutdown of the Druzbha pipeline, the company told state news agency MTI.

  • Russian oil supplies to Hungary have been significantly curtailed since the shutdown of the Druzhba pipeline on Tuesday. Oil shipments via the pipeline have since then restarted but remain only at a low pressure.
  • Maintenance at its main Danube refinery in Hungary caused a drop in capacity, affecting all its products, MOL said.
  • MOL said it was cutting deliveries to retailers it was not legally required to supply and that the change affected a tenth of Hungary's petrol stations, while estimations of the Alliance of Independent Petrol Stations suggest 20% of all petrol stations are affected.
