NATURAL GAS

Moldova is still awaiting response from Gazprom on the continuation of gas supplies in December according to Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu.

  • “We're currently counting on the 5.7mcm received daily being enough for November without having to take from reserves. And we can make a decision in December on partially using gas from the reserves, which total 157 mcm and are located in storage facilities in Romania and Ukraine," he said.
  • Moldova introduced strict energy saving measures in November due to the 50% reduction in gas supplies from Gazprom, he added.

  • Moldova has recently been looking to replace Russian gas imports from the West.
