Most USD/Asia crosses lower, as EM FX snaps 3 days of declines as the recent rally in the greenback hits pause as risk sentiment rebounds. The key driver of remains Brexit, a deal between the UK and EU is expected in the UK morning after negotiations went on into the early hours. UK PM Johnson is expected to make the announcement in a press conference at around 1100GMT.

  • Investors seem sanguine about US President Trump's comments yesterday that he wants $2000 stimulus cheques, rather than the $600 proposed. Democrats jumped on the offer and the additional measures are expected to hit the House tomorrow. Trump sown confusion hit risk sentiment yesterday, but markets now seem confident that despite the intervention a stimulus deal is still imminent.
  • The Thai baht is the underperformer after the Bank of Thailand kept interest rates on hold, but expressed concerns about THB rally and lowered growth forecast for 2021.
