Mozambique’s Coral South Project Ramps Up Production

LNG

Eni’s Coral South floating LNG plant is finalising the ramp up of production and is expected to ship its first cargo in the coming days.

  • Coal South has a capacity of 3.4mn mt/year and is based on the 450Bcm of resources in the Coral field in Area 4 offshore Mozambique.
  • BP has signed a 20-year offtake contract for the entire volume of LNG from the project.
  • Eni has been discussing the possibility of developing a second floating LNG project in Mozambique. The second possible floating LNG project would have a capacity of 2.5-3mtpa.
