- Canada Opposition NDP will announce in a video shortly that they are ending the "supply and confidence" deal with Justin Trudeau's Liberals, CBC reports Wed.
- The deal had the NDP voting with Liberals on confidence votes that needed to pass to keep the minority government in power.
- CBC says the deal's end doesn't necessarily mean an early election is imminent. An election is due under a regular four-year cycle late in 2025.
- Trudeau can also perhaps seek support from the Bloc Quebecois on some confidence matters. Conservatives already say they want an election as soon as possible and have a big lead in the polls.
