New York jet fuel’s premium over diesel futures has surged by 65% amid a pick-up in demand as the Thanksgiving holiday season approaches.
- Spot jet fuel in New York has jumped to a 24.75 cents/gal premium over Nymex diesel futures, according to Bloomberg and General Index data, the highest since April.
- Implied aviation demand has risen 10% in the past two weeks ahead of the US holiday season.
- East coast jet fuel inventories have been declining for four straight weeks and are at a near eight-month low.
