Nigeria LNG Force Majeure Could Impact One October Cargo

Force majeure by Nigeria LNG due to flooding may affect one LNG cargo scheduled for the end of October delivery according to Galp.

  • “We’ve heard” there is some impact on the cargo. “Whether it’s a delay or a cancellation we’re not quite sure,” according to the Galp CEO. Galp are not currently expecting further impacts in November.
  • Nigeria supplies around 50% of Portugal’s LNG volumes. Portugal's environment and energy minister Duarte Cordeiro said last month his country could face supply problems this winter if Nigeria does not deliver all the scheduled LNG.
