North Korea Test Fires Ballistic Missile Ahead Of Yoon's Japan Trip


North Korea has test fired another ballistic missile. This comes ahead of South Korean President's Yoon visit to Japan today, with a planned summit and dinner with the Japan PM, along with a joint press conference. This is the first visit by a South Korean President to Japan since 2019, as both countries look to improve relations.

  • The South Korean military noted that it was a long range ballistic missile, while the Japan authorities noted the missile was likely to fall outside of Japan's EEZ.
  • The test also comes amid continuing US-South Korea military drills, which continue into next week.
