NW Europe LNG Imports Highest Since Early May

Net LNG imports to NW Europe increased towards the end of last week after falling back in the middle of the month due to terminal outages. NW Europe imports were up to 248mcm/d on Sep 23.

  • Global competition for LNG cargoes remains strong but spreads still encourage flows to Europe over the rest of the world despite falling TTF prices. The US LNG netback to Europe is estimated at 48.82$/mmbtu and to Asia is estimated at 28.54$/mmbtu according to Bloomberg.
  • After today, 13 more cargoes are expected in to NW Europe before the end of the month with another 5 due in the first week of October. The deliveries include another cargo to the new terminal at Eemshaven.
    • TTF OCT 22 down -7.8% at 171.03€/MWh
    • JKM Oct 22 down -5.9% at 37.57$/mmbtu
    • JKM-TTF Oct 22 up 1.1$/mmbtu at -10.49$/mmbtu
